Given the growth of our Accounting services package, we are seeking resumes for an entrepreneurial junior accountant (also known as a bookkeeper) to join our Amplify team.This position is expected to be a minimum of 30 hours a week up to full-time.Full benefits are provided and paid to employees on a 40 hour work week arrangement.
As our accountant, you will be a key member of our Amplify Advisor team and will report to the Manager of Accounting Headquarters (AHQ). In this role, you will work with various clients where we serve as finance leaders and perform day to day accounting for those clients.
If the thought of watching the clock and sitting at an office gives you itchy feet, this could be the position for you as you will be required to spend most of your time working independently and from home. While you will need to be accessible and clear on your schedule with your client and our team, there will be significant flexibility. We value collaboration, however the nature of our jobs is remote.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
This role requires good communication in order to:
Perform day to day accounting and bookkeeping
Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable
Produce error-free accounting reports
Recording, reconciling and compliance GST and tax accounts
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations
Payroll and related HR documentation and record-keeping
Bank reconciliations (all accounts: cash, credit cards and debt)
Balance sheet reconciliations (sub-ledgers, etc)
Maintenance of all finance and accounting related documentation including emails, mail, vendors, contracts, etc
Collections and credit
Inter-company and due/to from reconciliations and payments
Meet deadlines for month-end, quarter-end, year-end, and tax filing. Flag challenges and questions in a timely manner
Proven experience as a bookkeeper or equivalent level
Understanding of basic accounting procedures
Experience with general ledger functions, the month-end/year-end process and reconciliations
Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, Xero/QBO preferred
Strong MS Excel skills
Accuracy and attention to detail and quality
Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
4-6 years of experience
A master communicator who has a natural ability to engage others and build relationships
A proactive, go-getter who can easily identify an Amplify opportunity
Able to work independently and can anticipate needs before anyone even knows they have them
